Professional Training and Development
Ocean Bank is committed to retaining and developing qualified people and most importantly, skilled leaders. We offer our employees ongoing professional training and development programs tailored to help our employees hone their skills and master new ones. We partner with numerous educational organizations and offer programs to provide our staff with many opportunities. We recognize that these measures will lead our employees to achieve strengthened pride, self-confidence and a higher level of professional excellence. Our education and training programs include:
In-House Programs:
Our in-house programs offer Ocean Bank employees training and skill enhancement for the various operational, compliance and functional areas in the financial industry. We also offer professional development opportunities in soft and professional skills. Ocean Bank has also established a relationship with both Miami Dade College and the Center for Financial Training. This enables us to offer several college credit courses in house for our employees each year as well as other financial related workshops and courses.
Computer Courses/workshops: Ocean Bank offers its employees continuing computer courses in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook among others. Our resource for all software application training is New Horizons – Computer Learning Centers.
Center for Financial Training/Miami Dade College:
Ocean Bank offers tuition payment to all employees who wish to enroll for up to 9 credits every school semester. The bank also pays in full for their books and all related class materials.
Ocean Bank has been the recipient of the South Florida Center for Financial Training (CFT) award for Outstanding Overall Participation for five years in a row. Furthermore, Ocean Bank has the highest enrollment level of overall participation with CFT from any other local banking institution.
Tuition Reimbursement:
Ocean Bank’s Tuition Reimbursement program provides assistance for employees who wish to pursue both undergraduate and graduate studies in banking/business areas. Full time employees are granted $3,000 per calendar year for undergraduate students. For graduate school, it offers $5,000. Part-time employees are also eligible for similar tuition reimbursement benefits.
External Seminars:
Ocean Bank allows employees to attend external seminars related to their job requirements/job functions when internal seminars do not exist.
